  1. When I worked in retail, the employees stocking shelves were taught to walk the customer to the product that they asked for, and then to ask the customer if there was anything else that we could help them find, both as a suggestive sell and to build customer loyalty.

    I don’t see that being done anymore. Employees will say “it’s over in there” or “that’s not my department”.

    And they wonder why I shop by price and don’t have any store loyalty.
